Sales Outsourcing Companies in India: What to Check Before You Sign

Sales outsourcing companies in India sell five different services, from salespeople on a provider's payroll to a team that books meetings for you. There is no independent ranking of them. Decide whether you need people, more first conversations or a way into a few large accounts, then put the same seven checks to three providers of that type.

Seven checks before you sign

  1. 1

Which service is it? Staffing, telecalling, lead generation, an outsourced sales development team or account-based selling. Ask the provider to name its type.

  2. 2

Who employs the people? If salespeople will work under your name, ask who employs them, how they are trained and who replaces them when they leave.

  3. 3

Shared or dedicated? Does the person on your account also work for other clients? Ask to meet them before you sign.

  4. 4

Which markets? Many Indian providers sell into the US, the UK and the Gulf. Ask for work in your target market, not only in India.

  5. 5

Calling and data rules Ask how the provider handles India's do-not-call registry and consent rules for marketing calls, and personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Selling abroad, the rules of the buyer's country apply too.

  6. 6

What is counted? Activity, leads, meetings or accounts. Ask for a sample monthly report.

  7. 7

How do you leave? Minimum term, notice period, and who keeps the data, domains and mailboxes when the contract ends.

Why does outsourced sales often disappoint?

The common cause is a mismatch: a service built to supply activity or book single meetings is asked to open accounts where several people decide. The calls are made and the meetings are counted, but the sale still needs the rest of the buying group to agree. Before you sign, ask how the provider works an account after the first meeting, and who is approached when the first contact goes quiet.

Where does account-based selling fit?

Account-based selling is the right type when you can name the companies you want and several people in each must agree. That is the position of many Indian IT services, SaaS and engineering firms: a market of a few hundred accounts, often abroad, each a long sale. The provider does not supply headcount or a meeting quota. It researches each account, maps the buying committee and builds conversations with several people in it. If you need staff on your own pipeline, or one person can buy from you in a week, choose one of the other four types.

How does Intandemly work?

Intandemly is an account-based selling company based in Hyderabad, working this way since April 2017, almost ten years. We do not place staff with clients. Each client gets a platform and a dedicated account-based selling consultant, supported by researchers, working a named account list agreed with you. Our clients sell into India, the Gulf, the UK, the USA and South-East Asia. We do not promise a number of meetings. We report on five KPIs: outreach accounts, coverage rate, active buying committees, active conversations and the value of pipeline generated.

What do sales outsourcing companies in India charge?

We found no published price list for India that we could verify, so this page quotes no figures. Four models are common: a monthly fee per person, a per-lead or per-meeting price, a monthly retainer, and a retainer plus commission. Per-lead and per-meeting prices reward volume, so check how a lead or a meeting is defined. Intandemly works on a monthly engagement, not per meeting. Staffing, telecalling or meeting-booking fits when

  • You need salespeople working your own pipeline
  • One person can approve the purchase
  • Your sellers are short of first conversations

Account-based selling is the better choice when

  • Several people must agree before anything is signed
  • Your market is a list of companies you can name
  • First meetings happen but deals stall inside the account

Common questions

What does a sales outsourcing company in India do?

It depends on the type. Some supply salespeople on their payroll, some run telecalling teams, some deliver leads, some book first meetings, and some work a named list of accounts.

Is Intandemly a sales outsourcing company?

Not in the staffing sense. Intandemly is an account-based selling company based in Hyderabad. We are engaged to open named accounts, not to supply headcount or a number of meetings.

Do you guarantee a number of meetings?

No. We agree an account list with you and report on the accounts.

Can we keep our own sales team and still use a provider?

Yes. Most do. The provider opens conversations and your sellers take them forward.
