How the numbers work
The gap is your target minus what you have already won. The pipeline you need is the gap divided by your win rate, so there is no universal coverage ratio: the multiple you need is 1 divided by your own win rate.
The sales cycle decides when new pipeline can count. An opportunity created with less than one cycle left in the period will usually close in the next one.
Accounts to work is the new opportunities divided by the share of worked accounts that turn into one. If you do not have that figure, start recording it: it sizes your account list.
Why this works on named accounts
Common questions
What is pipeline coverage?
Open pipeline divided by the revenue you still need to close in the period.
What coverage ratio should I aim for?
The tool gives no benchmark. The ratio you need follows from your own win rate, which is why it asks for it.
Why does it give a number of accounts and not leads?
In a large-deal business each opportunity sits inside a company where several people must agree, so the unit you can plan is the account.
Is anything I type saved or sent?
Every number is your own and stays in this browser.
