Account Coverage Calculator
A lead generation calculator with a different unit: accounts, not leads. Enter your people, their hours and your tier mix to see how many accounts you can really work, and whether your list is too long for your hours. Runs in your browser; your numbers stay on your device.

How to use it
- Step 1: Enter the people on the programme, the hours each can give and the Tier 1 accounts you want.
- Step 2: Read how many accounts your hours can carry, and the verdict on your own list size.
- Step 3: Open "Adjust assumptions" to replace the hold-back and hours per account with your own figures.
What your hours can carry
Your team can work about 30 accounts properly: 6 Tier 1 and 24 Tier 2.
These are example figures, not a benchmark. Change the numbers to yours.
Your list of 60 is 30 accounts too long for these hours. Work the top 30 and bench the rest in score order; a bench account costs nothing until a place opens.

Adjust assumptions
Starting figures, not benchmarks. Track your first four weeks and put in what an account really takes.
This calculator caps the list from your capacity. The Pipeline Coverage Calculator works the other way, sizing the list from your revenue target. Run both: the gap between them is the honest conversation about hours or headcount.
How the capacity sum works
Most lead generation maths asks how many leads you can buy. For named accounts the scarce thing is hours: every row on the list costs research, a plan and a person who knows the account. So the sum starts with your team's honest weekly hours, holds a share back for accounts that reply, and divides what is left by what one account of each tier needs.
The hold-back is the part people skip. An account that starts to reply costs more time, not less: calls to prepare, people to find, answers to write. If every hour is planned, the first good news forces something else to be dropped. About a fifth is our working rule, from our own engagements rather than a measured figure.
This calculator caps the list from capacity. The Pipeline Coverage Calculator sizes it from the revenue target. When the two disagree, that gap is the real planning conversation: a longer period, a better win rate or more hours.
Why this works on named accounts
Common questions
How many accounts can one person work?
It follows from hours, not ambition. With 15 honest hours a week, a fifth held back and the capping lesson's example figures of 2 hours per Tier 1 and half an hour per Tier 2 account, one person carries roughly 3 Tier 1 and 12 Tier 2 accounts. Replace those figures with your own after four weeks of tracking.
What happens to accounts over the cap?
They go on a bench, ranked in score order, with research frozen. When a worked account exits, the top bench account takes its place. A benched account costs nothing; a half-worked one costs hours that the real list needed.
How is this different from the Pipeline Coverage Calculator?
That one sizes the list from your revenue target: how many accounts the number needs. This one caps it from capacity: how many accounts your hours can carry. Run both, and treat the gap as the planning conversation.
Why hold hours back?
Because replies cost time. An account that wakes up needs calls prepared, people found and answers written, and if every hour was planned the good news forces something else to drop. About a fifth is our working rule, not a measured figure.
